🎶 Music in Daycare / Kita (0.5–5 Jahre)

Early childhood is a magical time — every sound, rhythm, and movement shapes how a child sees and experiences the world. Our Music in Daycare/Kita program gives children from 5 months to 5 years a joyful introduction to the language of music while building essential life skills.

🌟 Why Music in Early Childhood?
Music develops the whole child — mind, body, and emotions. Through singing, moving, and playing, children learn to:

  • Strengthen brain development and sensory connections

  • Communicate and interact socially

  • Improve fine and gross motor skills, balance, and coordination

  • Explore creativity, imagination, and dramatic play

👶 Babies & Toddlers (0.5–2 Jahre)

  • Gentle songs with touch, faces, rhythm, and repetition

  • Soothing tunes that bring comfort and safety

  • Movements like swaying or bouncing to music

  • Simple one-to-one musical games

  • Props like scarves and puppets to spark curiosity

🚼 Young Children (2–3 Jahre)

  • Large movement games (jumping, hopping, crawling)

  • Songs where children hear their names and feel included

  • Call-and-response games with scarves, ribbons, and percussion instruments

  • Simple concepts like fast/slow, up/down, right/left through play

🎵 Preschoolers (3–5 Jahre)

  • Singing, chanting, and rhythm games in many languages

  • Playing Orff instruments, percussion, bells, etc.

  • Improvisation and composition — creating their own music

  • Movement activities: scarf dancing, “Animal Dance”, “Body Part Dancing”, dance to classical and world music

  • Listening, analyzing, and describing sounds

We follow the Orff Schulwerk philosophy, a hands-on and creative method where:

  • Rhythm grows out of natural speech and movement

  • Melody develops from simple patterns and playful singing

  • Improvisation is encouraged — children create their own rhythms, dances, and songs

This approach makes music active, joyful, and natural for every child.

👩‍👩‍👧 Parent & Teacher Involvement
The active participation of parents and teachers is highly encouraged. Their presence reassures children, models enthusiasm, and allows the experience to be repeated at home or during daycare routines.

📅 Course Information

  • Who: Children ages 5 months – 5 years

  • Length: 30–40 minutes per group

  • Format: Weekly sessions

Options & Fees

  1. 8 months (ca. 30 sessions) – 25 CHF per child/session

  2. 5 months (ca. 20 sessions) – 30 CHF per child/session

  3. Short course (10 sessions) – 40 CHF per child/session
