🎹 Instruments & Practice Setup

  • A well-tuned piano, proper bench/chair, good lighting, and a quiet room are essential.

  • Acoustic piano is preferred. For the first 3 years, a quality keyboard is acceptable if it has:

    • 76–88 full-size, touch-sensitive keys

    • Music rack, sustain pedal, stand, adjustable bench

  • Families must have a piano or guitar at home for practice.

  • Unsure about buying or renting? 👉 Contact us before purchasing — we’ll gladly recommend or accompany you to choose the right instrument.

✅ Parent Checklist

  • Review your child’s assignments and check that all lesson tasks were practiced.

  • Organize mini-recitals at home to boost confidence.

  • Encourage practice on the same day as the lesson. Short, focused sessions are better than long, distracted ones.

  • Post a practice schedule and track progress together.

  • Show interest in your child’s pieces and progress.

  • Help them focus on difficult sections (practice small parts repeatedly instead of always starting from the beginning).

🎵 Lesson Guidelines

  • No chewing gum during lessons.

  • Fingernails must be kept short for proper technique.

  • Parents are encouraged to attend lessons.

🎼 Private Lessons (Piano, Guitar, Flute, Violin)

  • Annual Registration Fee: 35 CHF (non-refundable)

  • Tuition excludes music and materials (billed separately).

  • Lessons are billed twice per year in advance:

    • Term 1: July – December (15 lessons)

    • Term 2: January – June (22 lessons)

  • Fees:

    • 30 minutes – 65 CHF

    • 45 minutes – 97.50 CHF

    • 60 minutes – 130 CHF

  • Home lessons: +1 CHF per km (calculated from closest point: previous student, Zurich/Baden/Cham station).

  • Payment by invoice & bank transfer only.

  • Late Payment Fee: +15 CHF per month after due date.

🎸 Group Keyboard & Guitar Classes

  • Annual Registration Fee: 35 CHF (non-refundable)

  • 60 minutes (4 students per class): 60 CHF per student

  • Start anytime — tuition is pro-rated.

  • Late Payment Fee: +15 CHF per month after due date.

📅 Cancellation Policy

  1. If the teacher is absent, lesson will be made up.

  2. If the student is absent  → lesson is charged in full (no make-up).

  3. Termination: Possible only at the end of a term (31.12 or 30.06). Must be in writing, 30 days before the end of term.

    • No refunds. Without notice, full fees for the next term apply.

📸 Photos & Videos

SIMS may photograph or film public student events (concerts, recitals, competitions) for marketing purposes.

🔒 Privacy Policy (Updated 26 October 2024)

We handle personal data with transparency. Key points:

  • Data collected: name, address, contact details, IP address, device info, usage behavior.

  • Why: lesson administration, communication, product development, legal compliance.

  • Sharing: may be shared with service providers, authorities, or collection agencies if legally required.

  • Global providers: e.g. Google Cloud (USA). Standards may differ from Swiss data protection.
